Book Synopsis for Embermarked (Book 1 of the Dawnreach Trilogy)

In the heartland of Aurivale, where fields bloom under moonlight and every village keeps quiet faith with the Old Ways, thirteen-year-old Anna of Alderwyn is chosen.

Born to a family of leatherworkers and sheep herders, Anna knows the rhythms of sheep and soil, of smoke-cured hides and whispered blessings stitched into cloth. But when the Queen’s Guard appears during the Embermoon Festival (a fire-bright full moon that marks the turning of Summer into Fall) Anna is called to train in the hidden stronghold of Hollowhall.

There, among other gifted youth, Anna must prove herself through trials of body, mind, and spirit. She begins to uncover long-dormant powers: a bond with animals, a gift for sensing the unseen, and a quiet magic that speaks through kindness and instinct. But her path is shadowed by dreams of three girls bound by fate, and a world that once shattered when the goddesses disagreed.
